Texas Education Agency Acceptable Campus First place winner 2009 DACIS Chess Championships

The school was named for Lester Vester Stockard, a longtime educator in the Dallas school system. The present building was first occupied in spring 1955. The school then included both elementary and junior high students. In 1976, Stockard became a middle school with seventh- and eighth-grade students.
