Clarence F. Carr: C. F. Carr is one the many schools built in Dallas, Texas, which was named for an outstanding educator. Mr. Carr attended Paul Quinn College and Wilberforce University in Ohio, where he completed his work leading to a Bachelors Degree in Science. During his sophomore and junior years at Wilberforce University, young Mr.Carr’s work was so outstanding that he was made student instructor in Latin and Algebra. In 1918 he was awarded the Honorary Masters Degree in Science. In 1919 he was appointed as principal of the Dallas Colored High School, one of the best-colored high schools in the state. Clarence F. Carr delivered the address to the first college graduating class of Prairie View State College. He was president of the State Teachers Association and regarded as one of the most outstanding educators from Texas. He was principal at J. P. Starks Elementary School in Dallas.
