Major Awards and Honors

We opened Fall, 2006. We have been a Texas Education Agency Recognized School for 3 consecutive years.

Felix G. Botello, a Millet, Texas native born in 1925, studied at Crozier Tech until 1942 when he volunteered for military service. As part of the infamous "Doughboys" (a group who removed landmines), Botello, often under heavy enemy fire, performed various acts of bravery and heroism . During one such battle, Botello exploded a landmine which caused him to lose sight completely in one eye and partially in the other while he saved the lives of fellow soldiers.

With a serious commitment to education, Botello returned to Texas where he finished high school and attended law school.

Botello's character, courage and commitment inspired his sister, Adelfa Callejo, his son, Felix C. and his daughter, Elizabeth to study law and to give back to the community.

Eventhough, Mr. Botello died in 1990 at the age of 65, his commitment to education and humanity continues to influence young people.
