Kleberg Elementary School was a two-room, frame schoolhouse located on the corner of Kleberg Road and South Belt Line. A fire destroyed the orginal schoolhouse, and in its place, a two story, brick school building was constructed for the young children in the city of Kleberg. In 1964, the Kleberg school became part of the Dallas Independent School District. A new school was constructed on a 12-acre wooded lot at Edd Road and Garden Grove in 1987.

Kleberg Elementary School is a neighbor to the Dallas Public Library's Kleberg-Rylie Branch and the Kleberg-Rylie Recreation Center. Since its beginnings, Kleberg Elementary School has remained a pillar in the community.
