Boude Storey was born March 7, 1881, in Mexia, Texas and came to Dallas in 1889 with his family. He contributed much to the growth of Oak Cliff as a vetern educator and civic leader. He was the president and general manager of the Atlas Metal Works, a firm founded by his father, Millard Storey. Storey was appointed to the Dallas Board of Education in 1923. A year later, he was elected vice president and in 1926, president of the Dallas School Board, serving for 9 years.
