On Sept. 14, 1913, in Mount Vernon, Texas, Mr. Billy Earl Dade was born. Education was paramount to Dade as is evident by his academic achievements: Bachelor of Arts from Bishop College, Master of Science from Prairie View University, a doctorate from North Texas State University, and post-doctoral study at the University of Colorado. Dade's professional career spanned from serving as a junior high school classroom teacher to college professor. He served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in the Dallas Independent School District. Dade was the first principal of Pearl C. Anderson Junior High School in 1962. Dade was a respected educator whose life will be remembered for exemplary contributions and enduring service to education, to his church (Good Street Baptist Church), and the South Dallas Community.
