Erasmo Seguin. a Mexican-American hero, is known for his support of the Texas Revolution. In addition, Seguin helped organize the first municipally controlled school in San Antonio, Texas. In 1823, he represented Texas at the Constituent Congress held in Mexico City after Mexico's independence from Spain.

Seguin aided the Texas Revolution by making his home a storehouse and supply station for troops. He accompanied Texas soldiers in their retreat to East Texas after the fall of the Alamo and served as supply agent for them. After the Battle of San Jacinto, he returned to San Antonio and helped in the restoration of civil government.
