De Zavala Beautification

Meet 48 students from the W. B. Travis Academy and their eight chaperones as they journey to Bemidji, Minnesota, to attend a Russian language camp. Students spent five days totally immersed in the Russian language and culture at the Concordia Language Villages.

Besides studying the language, students also participated in Russian songs and dance and they ate Russian food at every meal. According to Travis teacher Richard Schulte, “This was an amazing program.”

“It was really cool because I got to learn a lot of Russian!” added Brenda, a Travis student.

Dallas ISD salutes Dalton Sherman a talented fifth grader at Charles Rice Learning Center. Dalton delivered the keynote address at the district's a Back-to-School Kickoff at American Airlines Center. The event was held for more than 17,000 school staff; to congratulate them for their efforts last year, which lead to Dallas ISD having 103 Exemplary and Recognized schools. The event was a rousing success, in part, because of the confidence and style with which Dalton delivered the address. Now he’s a YouTube star and requests are coming from across the nation and Canada. School Zone Dallas congratulates the international sensation Dalton Sherman and Charles Rice Learning Center two of Dallas ISD’s finest.
