Parent Involvement
There are several ways you can get involved with the partnership between home and school, which include:
- Join the PTO
- Volunteer in the classrooms
- Help at school-wide events
- Attend parent meetings
- Attend the Site-Based Decision Making Meetings
- Participate in Parent Food and Nutrition Classes
- Read to your child
- Help your child with homework
It is important to your child that you are involved in some way at school. It is a way to let your child know you think his or her school is important. To register as a parent volunteer please go to the following link: https://dallasisd.voly.org/
Another simple way to become involved is to communicate with your child’s teacher on a regular basis. An easy way to do this is to register for Parent Portal and Class Dojo. Parent Portal allows parents and guardians to access their child’s grades, attendance, assignments, setup alerts for grades and attendance, and it even provides a link to e-mail teachers. We have a Parent Center where parents are able to work alongside our Parent Instructor on various tasks for teachers and the school.
Also, we have a Facebook page where we post upcoming events. You can follow us on Instagram @peabody_chargers and Twitter @GPeabodyElem. Moreover, we send home flyers regularly with upcoming events in our Wednesday folders.
These are all ways that you can keep up with what’s going on here at Peabody. Together we will help our students achieve!
