    The staff at our school thinks highly of the culture and climate where they work, and agree that your child is at one of the best schools in Dallas ISD.  Every semester, a third-party research company sends out an anonymous survey to our staff, and they respond to a series of questions about their school.  Below is a snapshot of the results.

       • Beliefs and Priorities = 96.3%
       • Positive Culture and Environment = 91.2%
       • Culture of Feedback and Support = 87.9%
       • College-Going Environment = 98.3%

    Remember to help us build excellent students by:

    1. Getting your child to school on time (7:55 am).

    2. Getting your child to bed early (by 8:30 pm).

    3. Reading with your child every night (30 minutes).

    4. Have dinner as a family and talk about your child's day.

  • Joe May celebrates 5 de Mayo

    All grade levels participated in the 5 de Mayo celebration on May 12, 2017. Parents enjoyed an elaboarte and entertaining show. Pictured are Mariachi Pre-K students from Mr. Lopez's class.

  • 2017 CHESS CHAMPS!

    5th grade students, Michael Cervantes won a gold medal and Doris Gradiz won a bronze medal at the last chess tournament with DISD. We our extremely proud of our Mavericks!

    We wish our Urban Teachers the best of luck as they begin their journey in teaching. Jessica Zavalza, Maritza Martinez and Magali Cortes finish up their internship at Joe May. We are thankful for their support of our students. They are awesome!

  • Bike Winner!

    Third grade student, Gerardo Ortiz, was the winner of the Read to the Final Four competition. He read the most minutes! He wins a bike, helmet and lock. Congrats to our awesome Maverick.

  • 4th Grade Animal Project Showcase

    4th grader students spent the day teaching the Pre-Kinder through 3rd grade students all about animals during their Animal Research Project Showcase. The students learned so much.

  • Joe May places 2nd in the NCAA Read to the Final Four!

    Mr. Rivera and the 3rd grade students spent the day at the NCAA Read to the Final Four event at the American Airlines Center. We are proud of our Mavericks for making reading a top priority.
