Principal-Mrs.Raymie Venable

Raymie Venable is entering her 9th year as a principal and 21st year in education. She is excited to be surrounded by an amazing group of innovative educators who are devoted to leading the way in personalized learning instruction for all of our students.  After spending the first years of her teaching career in Dallas, she served in the roles of teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal in two neighboring districts. She was excited to return to Dallas ISD to lead the transformation of Sam Houston Elementary to a personalized learning campus. This is a dream come true for Mrs. Venable!  As PL Prep continues to push the envelope and place what is best for every student in the forefront of every decision, she is excited to engage all stakeholders in the transformation of education for our community.

Assistant Principal-Dr.Ashley Belton

Dr. Ashley Belton  will serve as the assistant principal at Personalized Learning Preparatory at Sam Houston. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication from the University of Houston, Dr. Belton began her career as an elementary teacher.  Once she gained experience with various leadership positions, she earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University and a doctoral degree in Education Administration from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Before becoming an assistant principal, she had the opportunity to serve as a special education teacher, dyslexia interventionist, fourth and fifth grade support teacher, and dean of students. Dr. Belton looks forward to working with our students, teachers, parents, and community as we create a learning environment where all students attain academic success.

Assistant Principal-Mrs.Norma Perez

Mrs. Norma Perez is returning to Dallas ISD after serving 5 years as an assistant principal in a neighboring district and with a total of 22 years in education.  She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico and a master's degree in School Administration from Lamar University.  Mrs. Perez has served in the roles of second through fifth grade bilingual teacher, reading specialist, instructional specialist, and assistant principal.  She values spending time with her family, running, and she is an avid learner about innovative instructional programs.  She feels honored to have the amazing opportunity of becoming part of a school that celebrates diversity, student voice, and excellence for every student.
