As a graduate of Dallas ISD, I am proud to be a pillar in the Dallas community and serve as a role model for our young students. I, Mrs. Green, graduated from Lincoln High School Communications Magnet, with honors, where I remained in the top 10% of my class. I was a part of many clubs, such as Art Club, Senior Committee, National Honors Society, Who's Who Among Students Nominee, African Dance Club, Floral Design, Cheerleading, and served as a captain on the Purple Flash Drill/Dance Team. 

Furthering my educational experience, I attended Texas College, Home of the Steers, in Tyler, Texas. I received my Bachelors of Science in English with a minor in Education, Cum Laude. Also, I continued my involvement in many clubs and activities, such as being a member and once president of the Beta Phi Chapter Sigma Sweethearts Incorporated, community service leader within the student government association, Texas College Royal Court: Miss Junior, cheerleader, and served as a captain of the Texas College Golden Girls. 

I have experience in teaching Reading/ Language Arts from 8th to 12th grade, and earned a masters degree from Texas A& M University at Commerce, and what an experience it has been. 

I am proud to use my assets and credentials as a tool to uplift and mentor our youth, as well as influence our scholars that the value of their education and life is priceless.

    Course Description:

    This course incorporates the components of balanced literacy as students read a variety of genres, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama; write a variety of compositions, including planning, drafting, editing, and revising based on feedback from their teacher and their peers; and engage in listening and speaking while building academic vocabulary. Through text-dependent reading and evidence-based writing and discussion, students will master grade level ELAR standards (and ELPS as applicable). Throughout the units, students will read, talk about, write about, and write like the text, while keeping a Reader/Writer Notebook and Binder to capture their work.  Each unit concludes with a culminating assessment.
