    John Neely Bryan School hours are 7:45a.m.- 2:56 p.m.  The doors open at 7:20 a.m.  

    • Tardies equal missed learning.
    • Can interupt other childrens' learning.
    • Can impact the child's behavior, self-esteem, and school success
    • Disrupts morning routine.
    • Affects important time for building classroom community and socializations.
    • Possibility of missing interventions or special services that are scheduled first thing in the morning.

    Absences

    • The district goal is for students to have no more thatn 5 absences. Prescription medical notes are preferred.  Include child's full name, teacher, reason, date, and parent/guardian name. Turn in excuses to Front Office or in child's folder.

    **** Checking your child out of school before 2:45 does count against you.

    Entregue las justificationes en la oficina o en el folder de su hijo.

    Recuerde:  Sacar a su hijo de la escuela antes de las 2:45 cuenta en contra suya.

  • Arrive on Time Parents Can Earn Gift Cards for On-Time Arrivals!

    Every six weeks, parents will be entered into a gift card drawing for their student's on-time arrivals.    All students arriving after 8:00 am will be considered tardy. A parent social after drop-off will be held in the library at the end of the six weeks.  At this time, all parents whose child has not been tardy during the six weeks will be entered into a drawing. If your name is drawn from your child's grade level, you will win a gift card. Plus at the social,  you get to enjoy coffee and muffins and meet your fellow parents!   • UIL Chess

    JN Bryan sent a 4-person chess team to Dade Middle School to compete Saturday,May 5, in a Chess Board UIL competition. Carter Fontenot, J'Quorian Christian, Honorio Sanez, and Theodoro Casteneda comprised the team. Out of 86 DISD elementary schools, JN Bryan placed 33rd, putting our school in the top half of the competition. We are proud of you! Thanks to the faculty sponsor, Ms. Coughlin.

  • Cinco de Mayo Celebration

    The school's LPAC committee organized the day-long event on Friday, May 4. Audiences were treated to morning and afternoon performances where the history of Conco de Mayo was explained. Various grade levels performed typical Mexcian folk dances. "La Raspa" was performed by the Pre-K, "El Caballito de Palo" by Kindergarten students, and "El Cerro de la Silla" performed by 1st grade students. The grande finale of the program featured the 5th grade students singing to "Mexico, Mexico" by Timbiriche. The day's festivities concluded with a school-wide parade and a classroom nacho party.

  • Bryan Chess Team Competes at Tournament

    Hats off to the Bryan ES Chess Team! They competed at a tournament on Saturday,April 21 Out of 16 teams, Bryan placed 7th in the K-3 category. Way to go! Thanks to the team and their coach, Ms. Coughlin.

  • Jorge Argueta to visit Bryan ES

    Jorge Argueta will visit on April 4 to speak to second grade about his new picture book, Agua,Aguita/ Water, Little Water. It is the winner of the inaugural Campoy-Ada Award in Children's Poetry given by the Academia Noretamericana de la Lengua Espanola. Mr. Argueta is in Dallas in conjunction with the Texas Library Association annual conference. We are lucky to have such a distinguished author visit our campus!
