    Educational Philosophy

    I believe every child is essentially a unique human being.  In order to awaken each child’s potential, I will guide teachers as they implement differentiated instruction at all grade levels. Students need a structured environment that encourages them to become explorers. In addition, the learning environment should ensure learning is concrete and memorable by allowing students to use all five senses. My goal is to create a school that fosters lifelong learners.

    DISD: Student Achievement Goals

    Goal 1: All students will exhibit satisfactory or above performance on state assessments. Students below satisfactory performance will demonstrate more than one year of academic growth.

    Goal 2: Dallas ISD schools will be the primary choice for families in the district.

    Goal 3: The achievement gap by race, ethnicity and socioeconomic status will be no greater than 10 percentage points on all academic measures.

    Goal 4: Ninety-five percent of students will graduate. Ninety percent of the graduates will qualify for community college, college, military, or industry certification.

    Goal 5: Ninety-five percent of students entering kindergarten will be school-ready based on a multidimensional assessment.

    Goal 6: All students will participate in at least one extracurricular or co-curricular activity each year.

  • Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight: Cesar Chavez

    Cesar Chavez was a prominent union leader and labor organizer who was dedicated to improving the treatment for farm workers. Chavez helped found the National Farm Workers Association, and he is the namesake of the Cesar Chavez Learning Center located at 1710 N. Carroll Ave.

    With the theme “Shaping the Bright Future of America,” Dallas ISD celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15) by recognizing and thanking Hispanic educators who are contributing to building strong future leaders for Dallas.

    Math Creativity / Open Number Lines: Students are encouraged to continue developing their number sense/fluency. Fourth graders are given multiple avenues to mastery by creating and justifying open number lines with decimals.

    Teamwork makes the Dream Work! As principal of Eladio R Martinez Learning Center, it is my honor to welcome everyone back for another outstanding year at Martinez. We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is my privilege to announce that our school has attained ALL SIX distinctions from the state of Texas. I can promise you that we will strive to challenge each student to grow into their absolute best. All of us at Martinez believe that every student should graduate from high school prepared for the demands of postsecondary education, meaningful careers and effective citizenship.
