Public Education Grant (PEG)

  • The state’s PEG (Public Education Grant), authorized under the Texas Education Code, Chapter 29, Subchapter G, §29.201, has identified your student’s campus as a 2018 PEG campus. A school will receive the PEG rating for one of two reasons:

    1. passing rates on STAAR for any subject-area were less than or equal to 50% in any two of the preceding three years: 2015, 2016 or 2017 or
    2. the accountability rating reflected an unacceptable performance in any one of the previous three years: 2015, 2016, or 2017.

If your child is enrolled at a PEG school, you have the option to have your student attend another campus for the 2018-2019 school year by applying for a PEG transfer. You will find the list of non-PEG school choices located at the following link: www.dallasisd.org/federalandstate. Please note that approval of such a transfer is dependent on space availability at your selected school and that district transportation is not provided to the new campus.

Detailed information on the Public Education Grant (PEG) will be posted at http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/perfreport/peg_faq.html

To apply for a PEG Transfer, parents should complete and bring, mail, or fax the PEG Transfer Application before May 1, 2018 to:

Office of Federal and State Accountability
    Dallas Independent School District
    2909 N. Buckner Blvd., Box 87, 4th Floor
    Dallas, Texas 75228
    Fax (972) 794-3589
    Telephone (972) 925-6734

Upon approval of transfer, parents will receive notification in the form of an acceptance letter from the Federal and State Accountability Office. Parents will take acceptance letter to the selected school when enrolling their student for the 2018-2019 school year.
