Hello Stockard Family!
I am thankful and humbled to have the opportunity to return for a second year as the Principal of L.V. Stockard Middle School. After 21 years of serving students in education, my excitement and passion remains for the work that I do. A native of New Orleans, I am a proud graduate of Grambling State University, where I was a member of the World Famed Tiger Marching band. I received a Master’s in Educational Administration from Texas A&M-Commerce.
I began my 11-year teaching career at Stockard Middle school as a 7th grade Math and Reading teacher. While at Stockard, I was also the Reading/ Language Arts department chair, as well as the Girls Coach for Volleyball, Soccer, and Track. During my time at Stockard, I was able to mentor and build relationships with many students with whom I keep in contact with today. After Stockard, I remained within the Oak Cliff community growing young minds as a teacher at Raul Quintanilla Middle School, and then Lida Hooe Elementary school as the Academic Coordinator. I continued my leadership journey as an Academic Facilitator for School Leadership.
My 7-year experience as a principal began at Amelia Earhart Learning Center and then William B. Miller Elementary School. At Miller Elementary we were an SEL (Social Emotional Learning) campus committed to educating the whole child.
I believe students have voices that need to be heard, parents have concerns and contributions that must be valued, teachers are professionals who should be supported and appreciated, and leaders must serve the needs of all in order for education to happen!
I am a Servant Leader, who believes in the power of TEAM! I look forward to meeting and collaborating with all members of OUR community.
Regards,
Principal Hudson
