In 1988, Congress designated the entire month of September 15th through October 15th as Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM).
This month, Dallas ISD is providing a series of highly engaging programs and activities centered around the celebration, empowerment, remembrance, and appreciation of our students' cultural heritages.
While the programming will be highlighted during these thirty days, the REO encourages schools to use these resources to augment lessons and spark discussions year-round.

Pioneer Series (lessons & videos)
Hispanic Pioneer Series
Hispanic heritage is often reduced to a handful of memorable events and historic moments, but these are only a few of the significant things to know. In an effort to honor this expansive and growing history, the Hispanic Pioneers Series will highlight some of those “lesser-known” but remarkable Hispanics in history. Applicable SEL competencies, Social Studies strands, and short biographical videos have been added to augment the lessons.
