Application Process

    For your convenience, apply online at www.magnetonline.dallasisd.org beginning December 1, 2017. Paper applications may be submitted to your first choice school beginning December 4, 2017. Only one application per student will be accepted. Falsifying information on the Magnet application will invalidate the application, and the students application will be excluded from the selection process.

    You may also print the magnet application and submit to the 1st choice school:

    DEADLINE

    The application deadline is January 31, 2018 at 4:00 pm.

    NOTE: Students who applied online must submit required documents to the first choice school by February 1, 2018 no later than 4:00 pm.

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

    • Application (If you applied online, bring a printed copy of the application)
    • Copy of student’s most recent report card
    • Norm Referenced Test Scores (For Dallas ISD students, STAAR or TerraNova results are required)
    • Any existing IEP and/or 504 plan/accommodation plan, if applicable.
    • Proof of residency (only current electric, gas, water bill or lease/mortgage will be accepted)
      • If you are living with another family, or you cannot provide either of the above:
        • Signed letter stating family is living with another family and
        • Student Residency Questionnaire (click here for form) and
        • Utility bill (gas, electric, water) belonging to the person you are living with Dated within the past 60 days

    If the situation is temporary, once you have moved into your own home, you will need to bring proof of residency for your new home.

    ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION

    Some campuses require additional documentation. Read the specific requirements for each magnet program prior to submitting an application. If all required documents are not received prior to the application deadline, the student's application will not be included in the selection process.
