• Grade 9:
    Students learn information about careers in cosmetology and basic skills and training needed. Students have opportunities for leadership and self-improvement.

    Grade 10:
    Students learn theory that relates to the needed skills as well as practical applications. Students progress from mannequins to clients as skills are developed.

    Grade 11:
    Students continue to learn procedures that develop them for entry level employment. Student  learn salon management and operation procedures. Upon completion of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation required hours, students test at a local testing center to take the state examination for a cosmetology license.

    Grade 12:
    Students  work in a paid internship which gives licensed cosmetology students the opportunity  to develop their skills. Students also study marketing, financial record requirements and planning a new enterprise to prepare for salon ownership.
