Students will get a unique opportunity to explore the careers in the Aerospace field with hand on training and unique classroom activities. A strong interest in aviation would be beneficial and a good mechanical aptitude would help ensure student success.
Students begin in the ninth grade by learning the basics of Aviation. They also learn to use basic hand tools and specialized materials needed for aviation maintenance through model construction.
In the tenth through twelfth grades students follow the FAA requirements the the General Class License, with an introduction to aircraft engine overhaul in their Senior year.
Along with the maintenance training, selected Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors can apply for the Private Pilot Ground School. This course prepares students for flight training in order to receive their Pilots' License.
