If you want to earn the WTW PTSA Senior Cord to wear at graduation AND qualify to apply for the PTSA Scholarship, you should attend the meeting and join the PTSA while you are there. Bring the attached log sheet so a PTSA Board member can verify your attendance at the meeting.
Cost to join PTSA is $12. Join online at https://www.dallasisd.org/Page/15608 or download the form from the website and bring to the meeting or put in PTSA box in the office BEFORE Dec. 15.

PTSA Senior Cord Requirements:
- Must be a paid PTSA member their SENIOR year (deadline to pay dues is Dec 15).
- Attend 2 PTSA meetings (Sept thru April) preferably attend 1 mtg in fall and 1 in spring. (May attendance is TOO LATE.)
- Complete 4 hrs of Volunteer time in WTWPTSA functions (ex: Homecoming Parade Street Fair). Hours to be signed off by PTSA Board Member.
- Only SENIOR PTSA members are eligible for the PTSA Scholarship application.
The PTSA Scholarship Committee is composed of four members of the PTSA Board. It includes a chairperson and an adult representative from each of the freshman, sophomore and junior classes. The committee will base its selection primarily on your essay, school and community involvement, and your high school transcript. It may also contact your references and consider any other information it deems relevant. By submitting an application you are consenting to the PTSA Scholarship Committee reviewing your high school transcript.
Several scholarships will be awarded to 2019 graduating W. T. White seniors at the Honors Assembly in May. This scholarship money is to be used for expenses related to tuition, fees and/or books which are not reimbursable from another scholarship. All funds must be claimed by April 1, 2020 by providing documentation to the W.T. White PTSA; any funds unclaimed by that date will revert back to the PTSA scholarship budget.
