BOOKER T. WASHINGTON STUDENTS MAKE HISTORY
Writing and Illustrating the first ever full length high school compilation comic book.

Dallas, April 16, 2014: Visual Arts students from Booker T. Washington High School have collaborated to form the first ever local comic book written and published by students. These artists have studied the old comic masters and have developed their illustration skills, which can be seen in this full-length comic titled "Teenage Pop Junkie” #1.  This comic is created by high school students, for high school students. Publication of Teenage Pop Junkie effects the comic book industry because of its portrayal of fresh, young ideas. These young readers have evolved into young entrepreneurs and are showing the culmination of this year’s hard work. The anticipation is boiling among Dallas area comic retailers and avid comic collectors. Jake Ewing, owner of Awesome Comics says “I can’t wait for this book to arrive. This will be something real, something with backbone.”  Keith Colvin, owner of Keith’s Comics and Mike Wolfman of Terror Comics have teamed up to create this amazing opportunity for students of Booker T. Washington. They truly believe in the talent of these students and are of the opinion that everyone should be able to see their work in print.  Teenage Pop Junkie #1 full retail location
