Biography: Cristi has been coaching in Dallas ISD since 2008 where she has coached girls’ basketball, softball, track &field, as well as golf. Currently, she is the assistant athletic coordinator and head golf coach. Burrell-Jones was a multi-sport athlete in high school where she was a standout in basketball, softball, and track at Delta High in Louisiana. After tearing her ACL, she decided to focus solely on academics on the collegiate level.
In 2004, Burrell-Jones received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Southern University in Baton Rouge where she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta. Following graduation, she worked on her M.B.A. at the University of Phoenix while working full-time as an Account Sales Manager/Recruiter before joining DISD as a teacher/coach. She became a charger in 2011 as the head softball coach and lead the team to two play-off appearances. As a coach, she is most proud of having four of her student-athletes to play on the collegiate level after high school.
Cristi is currently married to her husband of 10 years who is a retired Lt. for the United States army. They have one son together (Maddex). In her free time, she enjoys traveling to different countries, photography, and spending family time with her husband and son on the golf course.
