Marie Appel
Marie Appel is the special projects coordinator for the Dallas ISD Early Childhood department. Appel works as an internal consultant to assist the Early Childhood staff with process improvements, data analysis, and implementation. By bringing a business mindset to education, Appel strives to increase the efficiency of the Early Childhood Department and the district as a whole in order to make a difference for students. Prior to her role in Dallas ISD's Early Childhood department, Appel served in a similar role in the Dallas ISD Human Capital Management department in her efforts to increase efficiency, standardization, and data usage. Appel formerly taught third and fourth grade through Teach for America in Jackson, Mississippi. Appel graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Sociology and Government and also served as an advocate for First Generation College Students.
Bryan Berens
Bryan Berens is the data and design analyst for Dallas ISD’s Human Capital Management department. In that capacity, he is tasked with analyzing various data sources to inform strategic decision-making and to support the identification, evaluation, and development of talent-at-scale. A native Arizonan and University of Arizona alumnus, Berens taught at a middle school in South Phoenix and completed a fellowship with the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools before joining the Dallas ISD in 2014. Berens lent his expertise to a variety of major district initiatives, including teacher recruitment and selection, Personalized Learning, and the various employee performance management programs. Berens is extremely passionate about educational equity and hopes to leverage his skills and positive attitude to support the work of his colleagues.
Entaune Tyson
Entaune Tyson is an experienced manager with more than 12 years of experience in education and business. Tyson has held multiple leadership roles, including serving as a project manager, data coach manager, School Leadership coordinator, and performance management coordinator with the Dallas ISD. Tyson has received his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and also has a Green Belt Certification in Lean Six Sigma. Throughout Tyson’s career, he has excelled in data analysis, process improvement, project management, computer applications, report development, business intelligence, and analytics. Tyson holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University. Additionally, he is an active member of the Project Management Institute and a member of Toastmasters International, which is an organization that focuses on communication, public speaking, and leadership. Tyson’s background in business, technology, education, and project management gives him a unique set of skills to provide exceptional support and leadership.
