    Lieutenant Terri Thomas is a graduate of Texas Woman's University earning her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.  She hold a certifications as a Master Peace Officer and Advanced Instructor (TCOLE).  With over 22 years of law enforcement experience, she is the first female to be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.  Lt. Thomas previously served the department as a Campus Sergeant, but now supervises Campus, Patrol, and Criminal Investigation Divisions.  She was instrumental in the creation of the department's first Gang Unit and was responsible for bringing the Kids and Cops program to the district.  Lt. Thomas continues her work with youth by volunteering her time with Arielle Courts Club Volleyball.  This program provides girls with opportunities to travel, compete for college scholarships, and promotes health, education, and mentoring.  Many of the players are Dallas ISD students and have had successful college entrance.  Lt. Thomas' greatest accomplishment is being a mother to her daughter.
