Signs show that the ACE initiative is working. Academic performance has increased in core content areas, attendance has improved, disciplinary referrals have dramatically decreased, and parents feel more positive about their child’s school.
In 2016, Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability ratings showed that six of the seven ACE schools moved from Improvement Required to Met Standard. Furthermore, these campuses collectively received nine distinction designations.
Thirty percent more K-2 students on ACE elementary campuses read at or above grade level, double the number of students at or above grade level in the prior year.
In just one year, ACE campuses saw gains on 13 of 14 STAAR subject tests with an average gain of 16 percentage points.
