    1. The Marsh Band Concert will be on Thursday, December 5th at 7pm. Please come and see your children perform as part of the prestigious and successful Marsh band!

    2. Congratulations to the students who made the DISD All-City band! Once agian Marsh has the 4th highest total of students who make All-City in the district! This is a band made up of the best students in the district to play and make music together. It is a huge honor. Here are the students and their instruments:

    2017/18 Accomplishments

    17 varsity band members earned a place in the DISD all-city band. This was the third highest total in the district and set a record for Marsh going back at least 25 years.

    100% passing rate on the fall band ACP. Over 30 percentage points above the district average. Spring scores were steller...again.

    100 First Divison rtings earned by the varsity and non-varsity band members at the district's solo/ensemble event. First Division ratings are the highest score possible, akin to a first place.

    First Division rating for both the varsity and non-varsity bands at the annual Sandy Lake Music Funfest. This is the seventeenth year in a row the varsity band has earned this highest rating. It is the eighth year in a row the non-varsity band has earned a First Division. In addition, for the thirteenth time, the varsity band earned the "Outstanding Band" trophy.

    A First Division rating in sight-reading at the district's pre-UIL band evaluation. Again, multiple years earning this highest score.

    A First Division rating in sight-reading at the the region XX UIL contest. A total of four individual First Divsions at this contest, placing Marsh only behind Travis Magnet for highest toal of individual First Divisions for a DISD middle schoolat this contest.
