Staff encouraged to consult and post to districtwide datebook to avoid date conflicts
The districtwide datebook at https://www.dallasisd.org/datebook should be your chief means of scheduling districtwide activities and events. Checking the datebook before you schedule districtwide events helps avoid conflicts with other activities. Placing your events on the datebook will help others avoid booking events on the date of your school or department activity.
The datebook is only for events that involve (or are of interest to) the entire school district. Examples: STEM Day, the Magnet Fair, Convocation, MLK oratory competition, districtwide employee health fair, etc.
Department directors and administrative assistants are asked to keep their department calendars and the districtwide datebook current by following these steps:
If your department has a calendar in the Schoolwires web app, post your events there with the following information:
- the name of the event or activity
- a short description of the event
- the start and end time
- the venue name and address of the event location
- a department contact person and phone number or email address
To push an event from your department calendar to the districtwide datebook, follow these instructions.
Departments that do not have Schoolwires calendars can add districtwide events to the datebook via the datebook information form or by emailing an event flyer with the important details to email@example.com Once posted to the datebook, staff will be able to view your event in this format.
To post your event to the datebook, please forward the necessary information at least a week in advance of the activity or event. Direct questions to (972) 925-3914 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
