Ms. Maria Diaz

I was born in El Tropezón, Ocampo Gto. A very tiny rancho in Mexico. My father would migrate to the Texas border to work in the fields until my three older siblings where old enough to migrate with him. By this time, they would all settle in Dallas while my mother, stayed behind with the four young ones, which included myself. Until, with a heavy heart, my parents decided to leave everything behind and undertake a very scary adventure to unite the family here in Texas.

My education began in Mexico from 1st grade up to 3rd grade. Once here in the United States, I started school at James S. Hogg Elementary in Dallas ISD, continued to W.E. Greiner MS, and graduated from Skyline High School. I started working as a TA at Hogg Elementary once I graduated from high school. I worked there for 21 years until STAG was opened in 2018. I took this opportunity as a great friend recommended, to whom I will forever be grateful. STAG has been my work home ever since.

Nací en El Tropezón, Ocampo Gto. Un rancho muy pequeño en México. Mi padre migraría a la frontera de Texas para trabajar en el campo hasta que mis tres hermanos mayores tuvieran edad suficiente para migrar con él. En ese momento, todos se establecerían en Dallas, mientras que mi madre se quedó con los cuatro pequeños, incluida yo. Hasta que con gran pesar mis padres decidieron dejar todo atrás y emprender en una aventura muy aterradora para unir a la familia aquí en Texas.

Mi educación comenzó en México en 1er grado hasta 3er grado. Una vez aquí en los EE. UU., comencé la escuela en la escuela primaria James S. Hogg en Dallas ISD. Continue en W.E. Greiner MS y gradué de Skyline High School. Comencé a trabajar como asistente de maestra/o en la escuela primaria Hogg una vez que me gradué de la secundaria. Trabajé allí durante 21 años hasta que se abrió STAG en 2018. Aproveché esta oportunidad como me recomendó una gran amiga; a quien siempre estaré agradecida. STAG ha sido mi hogar de trabajo desde entonces.
