Ms. Anna Wright

Ms. Wright grew up in East Dallas and graduated from The Hockaday School, where she discovered her passion for equity, hard work, and all-girls education. She attended Bowdoin College in Maine, where she majored in English and Sociology.

Ms. Wright has taught reading, writing, science, math, and social studies to grades 4 through 7 at different points in her career. She served as her former district’s lead teacher and curriculum writer for fifth grade reading, writing, and humanities. She earned her Masters degree in literacy from SMU, where she also received dyslexia practitioner training.

She loves teaching at Solar Prep, which combines four of her favorite things: public education, fierce females, literacy, and East Dallas.

Ms. Wright’s fifth favorite thing is a tie between her dog, Auggie, and her cat, George. When she is not playing with them or reading mystery novels (favorite thing #6), she writes, performs, and teaches classes to kids and adults at the Dallas Comedy House.
