Each year the Texas Education Agency publishes accountability ratings to help Texas public schools meet the educational needs of all students. Based on several measures, including STAAR results, graduation rates, and SAT/ACT scores, campuses are scored in four different areas:
- Overall Achievement
- Student Progress
- Closing the Performance Gap
- Post-Secondary Readiness
Campuses then recieve one of two ratings:
- Meets Standard or
- Improvement Required
In additon, if a campus results are in the top 25% compared to 40 similar schools across the state, a campus can earn Distinctions in seven different areas:
- Academic Achievement in ELA/REading
- Academic Achievement Mathematics
- Academic Achievement Science
- Academic Achievement Social Studies
- Top 25% Student Progress
- Closing Performance Gaps
- Postsecondary Readiness
For more information, the TEA Accountability Ratings site shows ratings as well as the data used to determine the ratings for each campus and district. The site also shows the distinction designations earned by campuses.
