Texas Bluebonnet Program: The Bluebonnet Reading program encourages 3rd-6th graders to read books from different genres. Each year, the Texas Bluebonnet Selection committee chooses 20 books for the master list, and students vote for the winner in January. To be eligible to vote, students need to read at least 5 books.

2x2 Reading List Program: The 2x2 Reading Program is an optional program for all K, 1st, and 2nd-grade students. The 2x2 reading list is chosen each year by the Texas Library Association Committee, and it consists of 20 recommended picture books for young readers. Students may participate in the program by reading the books and filling out a 2x2 Bookmark Packet. When students complete their packets, they may turn it into the library. Students in kinder are to read 10 books, first-grade students are to read 15 books, and students in second grade are to read all 20 books to receive credit.
