What does the Professional Standards Office do?
Posted by:PSO investigates allegations of employee misconduct including child abuse and neglect by District employees; academic impropriety; discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; and other alleged violations of District policy.
PSO conducts formal investigations and oversees investigations conducted by campus administrators or supervisors (known as Administrator’s Investigations, or AIs).

How do I file a complaint?
Posted by:The Dallas ISD hotline has been established to allow Dallas ISD employees and other persons to anonymously report any known, alleged, or suspected non-compliance of Board policy. The Dallas ISD hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and includes prompts in English and Spanish.

Per CAA (LOCAL) and DH (LOCAL), any employee who knows or suspects an occurrence of fraud, misappropriation, financial impropriety, criminal act, or violation of Board policy shall immediately notify one or more of the following:
- District Hotline via telephone number 800-530-1608 or the online service at https://www.tnwgrc.com/dallasisd/
- Professional Standards Office (PSO)
- Dallas ISD Police Department
- Employee’s supervisor
An employee who suspects his or her supervisor of employee misconduct, physical mistreatment of students, fraud, misappropriation or financial impropriety should report such matters to the Hotline, PSO or the Dallas ISD Police Department.
Any reports received by a supervisor, PSO or the Dallas ISD Police Department shall immediately be reported to the Hotline.

Explain the investigative process.
Posted by:PSO is delegated by policy to handle two types of investigations:
- Administrator’s Investigations - investigations handled by the reported employee’s supervisor, and
- Formal Investigations - complaints investigated by a PSO investigator.
Any complaint made that involves child abuse or has the potential for criminal implications is assigned and reviewed by the Dallas ISD Police Department (Dallas ISD PD). Should Dallas ISD PD elect to close the case, the case is then referred to PSO for review.

How long does it take for an investigation to be conducted?
Posted by:PSO strives to conduct thorough investigations in a timely manner. With that being said, it is difficult to set a timeframe due to variables outside of the control of PSO.

What happens when the investigative process has concluded?
Posted by:PSO does not make recommendations for disciplinary action. Any potential disciplinary action issued will be determined by the employee’s direct supervisor as well as the Legal Review Committee.
