PSO investigates allegations of employee misconduct including child abuse and neglect by District employees; academic impropriety; discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; and other alleged violations of District policy.
PSO conducts formal investigations and oversees investigations conducted by campus administrators or supervisors (known as Administrator’s Investigations, or AIs).
The Dallas ISD hotline has been established to allow Dallas ISD employees and other persons to anonymously report any known, alleged, or suspected non-compliance of Board policy. The Dallas ISD hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and includes prompts in English and Spanish.
Complaints may be reported via the toll-free number below:
Complaints may be reported online at https://www.tnwgrc.com/dallasisd/
Per CAA (LOCAL) and DH (LOCAL), any employee who knows or suspects an occurrence of fraud, misappropriation, financial impropriety, criminal act, or violation of Board policy shall immediately notify one or more of the following:
- District Hotline via telephone number 800-530-1608 or the online service at https://www.tnwgrc.com/dallasisd/
- Professional Standards Office (PSO)
- Dallas ISD Police Department
- Employee’s supervisor
An employee who suspects his or her supervisor of employee misconduct, physical mistreatment of students, fraud, misappropriation or financial impropriety should report such matters to the Hotline, PSO or the Dallas ISD Police Department.
Any reports received by a supervisor, PSO or the Dallas ISD Police Department shall immediately be reported to the Hotline.
PSO is delegated by policy to handle two types of investigations:
- Administrator’s Investigations - investigations handled by the reported employee’s supervisor, and
- Formal Investigations - complaints investigated by a PSO investigator.
Any complaint made that involves child abuse or has the potential for criminal implications is assigned and reviewed by the Dallas ISD Police Department (Dallas ISD PD). Should Dallas ISD PD elect to close the case, the case is then referred to PSO for review.
PSO strives to conduct thorough investigations in a timely manner. With that being said, it is difficult to set a timeframe due to variables outside of the control of PSO.
To find out the status of an investigation, you may contact the PSO at (972) 925-5340.
PSO does not make recommendations for disciplinary action. Any potential disciplinary action issued will be determined by the employee’s direct supervisor as well as the Legal Review Committee.
Requests for a completed investigation report should be directed to the Dallas ISD’s Legal Services Department. Please click the following link to be redirected to the Legal Services webpage for instructions on how to submit a Public Information Request.
