• We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Dallas County Promise!

The Promise is a partnership of school districts, colleges, and nonprofits coming together to make college completion possible for more Dallas County students. Seniors from the thirty-one participating high schools can get started by completing their Promise Pledge at DallasCountyPromise.org.

Thanks to an unprecedented financial commitment from the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) Foundation, all seniors – regardless of GPA or family income – at thirty-one Promise high schools will have the opportunity to earn a full-tuition scholarship, a Success Coach mentor, and access to additional transfer scholarships to attend partner four-year universities, including SMU and UNT-Dallas.

To receive the Dallas County Promise, seniors must meet three key deadlines:

    1. Complete the Dallas County Promise Pledge
    2. Complete the DCCCD admissions application and submit FAFSA/TASFA with a DCCCD college listed
    3. Complete DCCCD registration for the fall semester

Promise Scholars who meet financial requirements and have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher (75 or better on a 100-point scale) will be automatically awarded the DCCCD Rising Star Scholarship which covers the additional cost of textbooks and provides an in-person Rising Star advisor. Please note - seniors in a Promise high school must complete the Promise Pledge to be eligible for both Promise and Rising Star.

    Congratulations!
