When should a student stay home from school?
When to stay home from school
Repeated episodes of vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
Fever check: Temperature above 100 degrees F
Body rash with itching or fever
Eye infection with redness, itching and pus draining from the eye
When to return to school
Fever free without the assistance of medication (i.e., Tylenol, Motrin, Advil, acetaminophen, ibuprofen) for 24 hours
Free from vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours
You have been evaluated by a doctor and they have indicated you are not contagious and may return to school
If you have been diagnosed with an infection that requires antibiotics like strep throat, you can return to school after taking the medication for 24 hours
