NON SUICIDE SELF-INJURY
The department of Psychological and Social Services shall be notified of ALL non-suicidal self-injuries.
All non-suicidal self-injuries shall be treated initially as medical emergencies then as a mental health crisis. Non-suicidal Self-Injury is defined as deliberately injuring oneself without suicidal intent. The most common form of NSSI is self-cutting, but other forms include burning, scratching, hitting, intentionally preventing wounds from healing, and other similar behaviors.
