Mr. Samuel Eppler

Sam Eppler is incredibly excited to lead North Lake Early College High School as Principal for the 2022-2023 school year. Before joining North Lake ECHS, Sam was the Assistant Principal at Moises E. Molina High School in Oak Cliff and served as their Business Pathways in Technology (B-TECH) Early College High School Administrator. Prior to Molina, Sam was a math teacher, instructional lead teacher, campus coordinator, and boys' soccer coach at L.G. Pinkston High School in West Dallas.

As a proud product of strong public schools, Sam believes deeply that all students, regardless of their zip code, should receive a quality education that prepares them both academically and professionally for our fast-paced and competitive world. Sam is specifically passionate about increasing equity and access to higher education and couldn’t be prouder to be a North Lake ECHS Blazer where all students and staff are “learners today, and leaders tomorrow.”

Sam attended George Washington University in Washington D.C. and double majored in Economics and International Affairs and minored in Arabic Language and Literature. Sam received his Master of Education from Southern Methodist University. Sam is a lifelong learner and speaks three languages: English, Spanish, and Arabic.

When Sam is not leading schools and visiting classrooms, you will probably find him reading, visiting his family or friends, or running and biking around White Rock Lake. Sam loves hiking America’s beautiful national parks and traveling abroad-- having lived in the Middle East and visited more than thirty countries.

Sam is a firm believer in the Martin Luther King Jr. quote, “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character–that is the goal of true education.”
