Ms. Freida Toles
A Dallas native and product of DISD. Freida Toles grew up in the Hillcrest feeder pattern area and graduated from Hillcrest High School. She comes from a long line of educators. She was inspired by her parents, Mrs. Toles, who was a high school home economics teacher, and her father, Mr. Toles, who was a high school principal.
Ms. Toles attended Spelman College for her undergraduate degree, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development. Throughout college, Ms. Toles’ desire to become a teacher never wavered. Upon graduating, she joined Atlanta Public Schools and became an elementary school teacher. Ms. Toles decided to leave Atlanta and continue her studies at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She earned a Master of Education in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and returned to Atlanta to teach. Ms. Toles eventually left Atlanta and joined Plano ISD to teach. After teaching Kindergarten and eventually joining DISD to teach First Grade, she decided to pursue school counseling. She earned her counseling degree from Amberton University and became an elementary school counselor in Richardson ISD. She later returned to DISD as a high school counselor at Hillcrest for 6 years, and then moved to Franklin Middle School as a 6th-8th grade counselor for 4 years.
Ms. Toles landed at Solar Preparatory School for Girls, and she is excited about serving this amazing community.
" I look forward to helping our girls achieve personal wellness and inspiring them to be all they are capable of being."
Ms. Toles has an 11-year-old daughter, Isabella. She enjoys finding fun activities to do with her daughter around the city, traveling with her girlfriends from college and spending time with her family.
