HBGonzalez PL Academy's At-Home Learning Overview
We understand this time of uncertainty is having a significant impact on all our families, and we are working diligently to support you during this unexpected event. Gonzalez PL Academy will remain committed to personalized learning as we transition to at-home education. We recognize that this will be a period of adjustment, and we want to assure you that we are committed to supporting your families and our community moving forward.
We sent home the district At-Home Learning packets, consumable workbooks, and/or 5th graders took their Chromebooks before the break. We want to assure you that our teachers will be available to provide the personalized instruction that our students have become accustomed to at Gonzalez PL Academy by check-ins weekly.
Personalized Learning incorporates a variety of components, including independent pathways, projects, collaborative work, and much more. We are working on a plan to provide students equitable access to technology. The district and city are working closely to assist with WIFI access across the county, and Gonzalez PL Academy wants to ensure that our families have access to devices if needed.
Beginning Monday, March 23rd, we will be hosting Morning Announcements for students via Facebook Live at 8:30 AM each morning. While I know students may not be able to attend each day, we feel it is essential to maintain our community and have students interact with their peers throughout this time. These meetings will allow us to maintain our focus on our Academy’s Vision and continue to support students' SEL needs.
Teachers will begin posting online lessons and sharing activities and resources for you to use at home beginning March 23rd, and we will continue to work to ensure you and your child are supported during this time. We ask you to stay connected on Social Media using the hashtag #GPLAStrong during this time.
Our Gonzalez PL Academy Family will continue to focus on empowering future school leaders through collaboration, transformative thinking, and leadership. Together we will ensure that our students continue to learn, grow, and stay connected in the weeks ahead.
