    PREREQUISITE: Spanish for Heritage Speakers Fundamentals, Intermediate Mid on an ACTFL-approved proficiency test, or as prescribed by the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

    This highly rigorous course provides opportunities for the enhancement of all language skills. It is a study of Hispanic language, culture, and history incorporating language skills and grammatical concepts. The main objective of this course is to continue building on the skills the students already possess by providing opportunities to expand their grammatical literacy, as well as social, communicative, and functional concepts identified with the Spanish language. These students function comfortably in the Intermediate level, with some students showing some advanced level abilities by the end of the course. Please note: This course carries a Level 3 LOTE credit. Students placed in this course with no prerequisite, wishing to receive a Level 1 and/or Level 2 LOTE credit must successfully pass a LOTE CBE (Credit By Exam) with a minimum score for Level 1 and/or Level 2 credit, or pass an approved proficiency exam equal to Intermediate Low, as prescribed by the TEKS for LOTE.
