Solar Preparatory School for Girls at James B. Bonham is receiving a $20.7 million addition and renovation to its East Dallas campus.  Phase One was completed in November 2018 and included an $18.8 million dollar addition featuring:  

• 15-classroom addition with storm shelter
• New kitchen and cafeteria
• Makerspace

Phase Two will focus on renovations to the original building and will include:

• Replacement of existing exterior windows
• Upgraded heating system including removal of boiler in the basement and heat exchanges in classrooms
• Updates and repairs to corridors and flooring
• Restriping of the parking lot
• New exterior lighting
• New landscaping at the original main entrance
• Sidewalk replacement
• Cleaning of the exterior facade
• Repainting exterior surfaces
• New wayfinding signage
