    OM & SHANTI SCHOLARSHIP FUND OF COMMUNITIES FOUNDATION OF TEXAS

     

    Scholarship available for graduating high school seniors from public schools in

    Dallas or Collin County who intend to pursue a higher education in the state of Texas

     

    Om & Shanti Scholarships are four-year awards of up to $6,000 per year that may be used for tuition books and fees at any college, university, trade or vocational school in the state of Texas.

     Eligible applicants must be current graduating high school seniors of a public high school in Dallas or Collin Counties in the state of Texas. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must also intend to pursue a degree at an accredited educational institution in the state of Texas.

    The selection criteria includes scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential, and financial need. In the event that applicants are of equal merit, preference will be given to first-generation higher education students.

    Applicants are required to complete the FAFSA prior to applying in order to complete the Financial Need Section of the Universal Application, submit a required essay and provide two letters of recommendation.

    THE C.C. MIAO & ROSALIND MIAO SCHOLARSHIP OF

    COMMUNITIES FOUNDATION OF TEXAS

    The scholarship is available for graduating seniors and

    current college students in the North Texas area who are

    of Chinese ethnic heritage.

     

    The C.C. Miao & Rosalind Miao Scholarship provides scholarships for graduating high school seniors and current college students attending an accredited college or university in the state of Texas. Applicants must be from the North Texas area (Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, or Wise county) and must be of Chinese ethnic heritage – either born in China or Taiwan or born in the United States and have parents or grandparents who were born in China or Taiwan. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need. Multiple scholarships are awarded each year, ranging from one to four years. Award amounts vary.

    Applicants are required to complete an essay and the FAFSA and are encouraged to provide letters of recommendation. Finalists will be selected and invited to participate in an interview with the selection committee. Selection as a finalist does not guarantee selection as an awardee.

    THE NORTHWOOD WOMAN’S CLUB SCHOLARSHIP OF

    COMMUNITIES FOUNDATION OF TEXAS

     

    Scholarship available for female students pursuing advanced education

     

    The Northwood Woman’s Club Scholarship provides multiple one-year scholarships of between $2,500 and $5,000 to female students who have overcome great difficulty to pursue advanced education. This scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees to attend any accredited post-secondary educational institution, including 4-year colleges, junior college, and vocational schools in the United States or its possessions. There are no limitations on a field of study.

    Eligible applicants must be female graduating seniors, past high school graduates with a degree or GED equivalent, or current college students looking to continue their studies. Applicants must reside in Dallas or Collin County, Texas and be United States citizens or documented legal residents of the United States. Graduating seniors, high school graduates, and current college students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. No current members or family members of current members of Northwood Woman's Club are eligible to apply.

    Selection criteria include: financial need, letters of recommendation, aspirations, and life challenges as expressed in the essay response, school activities and/or community/extracurricular activities, and demonstrated leadership potential.

    Applicants are required to provide two letters of recommendation and complete an essay. Finalists will be invited to interview at Communities Foundation of Texas or virtually.
