Reading Teacher

Hello!  My name is Okary Wong and I am excited to be your sixth-grade reading teacher! I am a proud product of Dallas ISD and first generation college graduate. As a first generation college graduate I understand the struggle many kids in the district face as they seek higher opportunities.  Through hard work and motivation from amazing teachers I was able to rank number 9 at North Dallas High School. This accomplishment led me to join the Academic Bridge Program at the University of Texas at Dallas. I earned my degree in Biology and Business Administration. Volunteering at an elementary school led me to fall in love with teaching and earn my certification.  Coming back to Dallas ISD as a teacher has helped me learn and appreciate everything my own teachers have done for me. In my free time you will find me eating my favorite Korean shaved ice or at my favorite Korean Bakery.
