With great pride and excitement, I introduce myself as your newly appointed principal of Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Academy (BFIEA) for the 2022-2023 school year. It is truly an honor and privilege to be chosen to serve your school community, which is built upon a rich tradition of history and excellence.
Originally from the Big Island of Hawaii, I received my bachelor’s degree in Education at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and my master’s degree in Educational Administration from Argosy University.
I am proudly married to a fellow Dallas ISD employee Jonelle, and we have a son and daughter, who are now young adults pursuing their dreams for the future.
For the past twenty-one years, I served as a secondary teacher (7 years), assistant principal (8 years), campus principal (4 years), and most recently, a district administrator in the Office of Innovation for Garland ISD (2 years).
I look forward to getting to know who you are and what makes BFIEA unique in the coming weeks. I am committed to honoring the past, engaging the present, and working together with you to develop a vision for the future. I firmly believe that it takes all stakeholders (parents, community members, and staff) to ensure our students are successful and adequately prepared for their future.
We will post more information on our campus website regarding upcoming campus engagement activities where I will have a chance to meet you. Thank you for entrusting your child to the Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Academy community.
Me ke aloha pumehana (Hawaiian for “with warm regards”),
Chucky Viernes
