The EEC Summer Science Enrichment Program primarily focuses on the life sciences, ecology and environmental concepts. Students will engage in a variety of outdoor, hands-on, field investigations and explorations in different areas of science using the forest, ponds, and grassland areas of the 500-acre center. Topics covered include entomology, aquatic ecosystems, botany, fossil hunting, GPS, and geology. Students will have an opportunity to interact with a variety of environments, live animals, museum exhibits, and livestock during the course of the program. All programs are aligned with the Science TEKS and support student mastery of multiple science concepts. This program will help students perform better on their STAAR assessments. Programs are delivered by experienced, certified, district science teachers.
