    Child Life Assistant

    As a Child Life Assistant, in the Child Life department at Children’s Health, you will play an important part in helping children get the care they need and contributing to our mission of making life better for children. This position starts at $20 an hour.

    As an active participant on the interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for activities in the playroom as instructed by the Child Life Specialist while monitoring the safety of the children as well as providing a child-friendly environment. 

    In this role, you will be expected to:

    • Monitor general health needs in the playroom and ask for assistance from nursing when appropriate.
    • Provide toys and activities that are appropriate for a wide developmental range of children.
    • Take developmentally appropriate toys and activities to individual patients confined to rooms; and set up the playroom activities, supervise the activities and clean up area;
    • Provide input to the Child Life Specialist about specific needs of individual children; determine when the needs of individual children should be attended to by medical professionals and / or outside the general scope of the role of the Child Life Assistant; and
    • Supervise volunteers assisting in the playroom; assist with acceptance of donations and materials handling for the department. 

    Experience

    At least 1-year experience required 

    Education

    High school diploma or GED required 

     


    Health Unit Coordinator

    As a Health Unit Coordinator in the general pediatrics at Children’s Health, you will play an important part in helping children get the care they need.

    As a warm, caring person who welcomes patients and their families when they arrive, you’ll put patients and their families at ease and set the tone for the rest of their visit. Your responsibilities will include transcription of physician orders, reconciliation of charges/census, entering data into Clinical System, generating reports and answering phones. Ensuring patients are admitted to appropriate service in a timely manner; respond to visitors, patients and families, and other staff members in a manner that promotes a positive public image for Children's Medical Center; may serve as a preceptor to other unit coordinators; and perform other duties and special projects as required.

    This is a full-time day position working (3) 12-hour shifts starting at 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. in our PICU Trauma Department. This position also requires you to work weekends.

     Hourly pay is $20.00 

    Experience

    Knowledge of hospital setting and medical terminology

    Concierge

    Dallas, Texas | Patient & Family Experience |

    As a Concierge at Children’s Health, you will play an important part in helping children get the care they need.

    As a warm, caring person who welcomes patients and their families when they arrive, you’ll put patients and their families at ease and set the tone for the rest of their visit. Your responsibilities will include assisting each visitor through the badging and screening process. Facilitate the visitation of confidential patients which includes interacting with visitors in a way that does not disclose the patient’s information. Provide oversight for volunteers serving in an ambassador role and ensure they are trained properly, and additional tasks as needed.

    This is a PRN position in our Dallas Children's Health location, working as needed weekdays or weekend shifts day 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.  (Dates can be discussed further during interview)

    Hourly Pay is $20

    Ambulatory Services Representative

     

    As an Ambulatory Services Representative at Children’s Health, you will play an important part in helping children get the care they need.

    As a warm, caring person who welcomes patients and their families when they arrive, you’ll put patients and their families at ease and set the tone for the rest of their visit. Your responsibilities will include checking patients in/out, scheduling any follow up appointments, obtaining demographic information to determine in/out of network services along with authorizations for admissions and collecting of copay amounts. You will conduct financial screenings to determine if a patient is in need of financial counseling and resolve any additional issues that may arise.

    This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday in the Pediatrics Southwest Department in Children (start time hours can be discussed during interviews)
