Assistant Principal Shannon Wright joins the Herbert Marcus Community with over 14 years of educational experience in Dallas ISD. During her career in education, Mrs. Wright has been building efficacy in students and teachers through providing formal and informal instructional learning experiences leading to academic success for all students
Mrs. Wright began her career in 2007 as an Alternative Certification secondary science teacher in Dallas as a Sixth Grade Teacher at Seagoville Middle School. While serving at Seagoville Middle School, she taught as a Sixth, Seventh, Seventh Grade pre-AP, and Eighth Grade Science Teacher. She obtained her master's in educational leadership as well as master's in education with a specialization in STEM through Southern Methodist University and served in School Leadership roles as a Campus Instructional Coach and Instructional Lead Teacher.
Mrs. Wright is an advocate for providing students opportunities for informal learning experiences. She was selected to attend an educator professional development institute at NASA in Houston, Texas where she became lunar and meteorite certified. Mrs. Wright has presented with NASA and with SMU at the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teachers (CAST). Shannon has written science curriculum for the district in the teaching and learning department as well as serving on the testing and assessment side by creating sample items for the ACP (assessment of course performance). She began her career in Dallas ISD and continues to be Dallas Proud and is excited to be joining Marcus Elementary. #BestSchoolEver
