The Solar prep orchestra consists of 4 string instruments- violin, viola, cello and bass. Music can provide a total brain workout for students as it allows them to reduce anxiety, while also improving cognitive development. Currently the orchestra is offered to 4th grade through 7th grade and 8th grade will be added next year.

Our younger students' curriculum is based more on a suzuki or rote approach, while the upper grades use rote while simultaneously learning to read music. It is important for students to explore their creativity not only through core subjects but also through the study of music! Darwin once stated, “If I had my life to live over again, I would have made a rule to read some poetry and listen to some music at least once every week.”
