Student Teaching Field Experiences

Dallas ISD is excited to welcome students beginning their clinical teaching internships! To participate, clinical teachers must be sponsored by an active partner university or Educator Preparation Program (EPP).

Placement requests are made by the university or EPP coordinator and are managed by the DISD Student Teacher Coordinator.  

Become a Clinical Teacher at Dallas ISD

1.     University Coordinator submits the Clinical Teaching Placement Request.

2.     University Coordinator sends an email to clinicalteaching@dallasisd.org to inform them that the requests have been submitted.

3.     Students complete the Student Teaching Application and survey for the clinical teaching semester.

4.     Students will receive an email with details on how to complete the background check (this includes fingerprinting).

5.     Dallas ISD Student Teacher Coordinator emails confirmation of the student teaching placement.

Become a Student Observer at Dallas ISD

Dallas ISD welcomes students needing classroom observation hours for their educational preparation programs. Students can choose from over 230 schools with unique programming to fit their professional growth as a future educator.
