Are students allowed to board the bus if they forget to bring their mask?
Yes, they are allowed, the driver will have some available should a student need one and while the mask policy is in effect.

Are students marked late/absent if the bus shows up late or no-shows?
No, but in the event your scholar receives a tardy or absence please contact the campus CRC/Data Controller or Campus Administration.

Are students required to wear seatbelts on the bus?
Only on buses equipped with seat belts.

Are the bus drivers instructed to pick up students at the back or front of the campus?
- The pick-up and drop-off location at each campus is different and is determined by the school administration. Please contact your school for the location/spot for your student’s bus route.

Are Parents allowed or permitted to ride along on the bus during a field trip?
Yes. They must be cleared by the campus once they have gone through a background check and they have properly registered with the District to be a volunteer. More information on our district page.

Are there transportation accommodations for students who have temporary disabilities, (i.e. crutches)

Do you provide transportation from the home to school for Choice program?
- No. The Choice program provides transportation from school to school.
- Parents need to complete the e-form on the district’s website, (Transportation page), and select your choice of pick-up & drop off locations.
- Once the student has been registered for transportation under the Choice program, it is the parents responsibility to transport the student to the Choice stop/location that they selected.

- No, Dallas ISD transportation services are only for district students..

Schools are responsible for signing up for Bus Bulletin. This is a notification system via phone and email.

How do I request a new stop?
- Placing a Let’s Talk ticket to the Routing Department.
- Messages should include the student's full name & ID, bus route and information supporting the request for a new stop.
- Both the Routing Team and the Safety Department will review. This process may take up to three business days.
- Once deemed hazardous and/or approved, the Routing Specialist will make contact with the Requester (Parent, Guardian, Campus Administrator, etc.)
